We stand by the quality of the furniture that we make and confidently offer lifetime guarantees. The furniture that we make here in our workshop is designed and built to last. In fact the furniture we make will more than likely get passed down to the next generation in your family. This makes our furniture not only a beautiful thing to own and use but an investment for the future.

Terms of our Guarantees

There are obvious restrictions to any guarantee. To help avoid any disappointment or misunderstanding please make sure you read the following terms.

All of our furniture is made for general domestic purpose use only, unless other terms are agreed prior to manufacture.

All of the furniture covered by our guarantees are covered for manufacturing faults only. This does not include normal wear and tear, marks, scratches, burns, scuffs and dents caused after delivery has taken place or problems caused by incorrect waxing or oiling by the customer (please read our caring for your furniture page for guidelines on re-finishing your furniture).

The guarantee is valid only for the customer who ordered and paid for the furniture directly from Ashton And Coleman. A full receipt may be required for proof of purchase.

All of our furniture is handmade using natural materials giving each piece a completely unique identity. Character such as knots, grain pattern and small shakes are not classed as faults and therefore not covered by our guarantee.

Solid wood furniture is subject to ‘settling in’ to its environment. Minor shrinking and swelling may occur during the initial acclimatisation of your furniture. This may also be the case as the temperature fluctuates throughout the seasons. These minor changes are not covered under our guarantee as they will not affect the quality, stability or lifespan of the furniture. The amount a piece of solid wood furniture can change varies greatly depending on the climate in which it is located. Our guarantees are only valid if your furniture is kept at moderate temperatures and humidity. if your furniture is kept in extremely hot or dry conditions or extremely cold or damp conditions you’re furniture will not be covered by our guarantees. Solid wood furniture must be kept at moderate temperatures and humidity.
