The Refectory Bench : Mill Sawn Pine

From hallways, and porches to kitchens and conservatories. The Ashton & Coleman mill-sawn pine range is made using slow-grown Quebec Pine in our very own workshop in Derbyshire. Running our own workshop means we can easily take care of each and every piece that we make for our customers. Our dining benches are designed to fit underneath its parent table. If you need to work out the size of the bench take the size of the parent table then subtract the overhang of that table on both ends then subtract 210mm. This farmhouse-style handcrafted dining bench is made with fifty five millimetre thick legs. ninety millimetre deep side rails morticed and tenoned into the legs then glued and dowelled for extra strength. The refectory dining bench comes with a bench top made from one and a half inch thick timbers finishing around 38mm thick. The refectory bench also comes with a base rail between each pair of legs and a stretcher bar between each end adding even greater strength to an already solid design. The rough sawn finish is sanded carefully by our furniture makers to leave just the right amount of character in the timber before two coasts of stripped pine wax bring the final design to life. Each piece is then branded with one of our hand-stamped leather discs.
