A truly British-made oak bed. A classic oak farmhouse bed design brought up to date by Ashton And Coleman using our trademark re-sawn oak timbers.

The Re-sawn Oak Slat Bed is made with traditional mortice and tenon joints for absolute quality. Solid four-inch thick European oak is used for the bed posts, this is totally unique to Ashton And Coleman. We don’t cut corners. Our emphasis is always on manufacturing British-made oak beds that look great, but last forever. It has to be that way to honour the natural materials used. The headboard and footboard are made up using solid sections of thirty-five-millimetre-thick European oak. The thirty-five-millimetre thick removable side rails are fitted to the headboard and footboard with tenons, held in with super strong metal brackets that allow our oak farmhouse beds to be taken apart and put back together as many times as you like without affecting the quality of the bed. The removable bed slats are made from twenty-seven-millimetre-thick Scandinavian redwood boards so you and your mattress have total support throughout the night.

Sizes stated are external measurements (largest part of the piece). Sizes are a guide only. All handmade furniture by its nature can fluctuate in size fractionally from one piece to the next. For your chosen piece of furniture to fit the space you intend, please allow an additional 12mm on all external sizes given. Ashton And Coleman cannot be held responsible for failed installations or deliveries due to sizes being miscalculated by a customer.

Finish : Fiddes White Wax Oil

Build quality: Handmade by Ashton And Coleman using 4″ solid section European oak for the bed posts. Glued and dowelled 3/4 inch mortice and tenon joints fix the European oak slatted headboard to the posts. Extremely strong 3/4 inch mortice and tenons connect the side rails to the posts. Solid metal brackets are screwed to the side rails and the posts to keep the mortice and tenon’s together and also allow them to come apart for delivery. But don’t worry, you can take these beds apart and put them back together extremely easily and over and over again without losing the quality or strength of the bed.
