Crafted for Comfort: Ashton & Coleman x Swinney Wood Log Cabins

At Ashton & Coleman, we believe in creating furniture that enhances the spaces people love—especially those designed to help us switch off, reconnect with nature, and truly relax. That’s why we were thrilled to collaborate with Swinney Wood Log Cabins, a stunning woodland retreat in Derbyshire that shares our passion for sustainability, comfort, and craftsmanship.

Together, we helped furnish their luxurious timber cabins with a curated selection of our handmade solid wood furniture and natural mattresses—creating interiors that are not only beautiful but built to last.

About Swinney Wood Log Cabins

Tucked away in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, Swinney Wood Log Cabins offers a truly unique escape. Their Scandinavian-style log cabins, handcrafted using natural timber, offer guests a peaceful, off-grid experience with no compromise on luxury.

Guests visit Swinney Wood for its:

Tranquil woodland setting
Private, romantic cabins perfect for couples
Eco-conscious approach to construction and hospitality
Luxurious interiors with log burners, hot tubs, and natural finishes
Emphasis on peace, nature, and slow living

It’s a space where nature meets nurture—and that made it the perfect match for Ashton & Coleman’s handcrafted furniture.

What We Supplied

To match the rustic elegance of the cabins, we crafted and delivered a bespoke selection of handmade solid wood furniture that enhances the natural aesthetic of the space, including:

Signature Four Poster Beds made from solid oak and pine, featuring our unique rustic finishes
Natural, Zero-to-Landfill Mattresses from our long-standing collaboration with Smeaton Brothers
Solid Wood Coffee Tables, handcrafted with traditional joinery
Low TV Cabinets designed for warmth, simplicity, and everyday function

Each piece was made to complement the timber structure and woodland surroundings of the cabins—bringing organic textures, earthy tones, and a sense of permanence to the space.

Why Swinney Wood Chose Ashton & Coleman

Swinney Wood Log Cabins were looking for furniture that reflected their eco-conscious ethos and handcrafted approach to hospitality. They chose Ashton & Coleman because we offered:

Solid wood furniture, made from oak and pine—not veneers or flat-pack
A natural, rustic aesthetic that fits beautifully within a timber interior
Sustainably made products, including zero-to-landfill mattresses and low-impact materials
A commitment to British craftsmanship and ethical manufacturing
Bespoke sizing and designs to suit the unique layout of each cabin

By choosing furniture that aligned with their values, Swinney Wood was able to elevate their guest experience—offering not just a place to stay, but a space to truly unwind.

Why We Loved This Collaboration

From the moment we spoke with the team at Swinney Wood, we knew this would be a special project. Their dedication to environmental responsibility, quality over quantity, and creating meaningful guest experiences is exactly what we stand for.

We’re always excited to work with small, independent businesses who care about the integrity of their interiors and want furniture that will age gracefully, work hard, and tell a story. Swinney Wood’s attention to detail, respect for nature, and authentic guest-first approach made this one of our most rewarding collaborations.

A Shared Vision: Natural Living, Built to Last

Whether it’s our four-poster beds or their handcrafted log cabins, both Ashton & Coleman and Swinney Wood believe in designing things that last—physically, emotionally, and environmentally. We’re honoured that our furniture now plays a part in so many couples’ relaxing getaways and romantic breaks in the woods.

If you’re heading to the Derbyshire Dales and looking for the perfect escape, we can’t recommend Swinney Wood Log Cabins highly enough.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Having had Indigo furniture in the past, that was heavy, good quality furniture, I was mildly apprehensive about what I would be getting 15 years later from another company over the phone.
The quality is in fact better and the finish is of a higher standard and the old irritations have been rectified. I had a bespoke triple wardrobe made that is superb.
Rest assured it's the same but better!- Look no further!
