Bespoke Dining Table Makers: How to Choose the Right One for Your Home

At Ashton & Coleman, we understand that a dining table is more than just a piece of furniture—it’s where meals are shared, stories are told, and memories are made. That’s why we offer bespoke dining tables, handcrafted from sustainably sourced oak and pine, tailored to fit both your space and lifestyle.

If you’re searching for a custom-made solid wood dining table that balances beauty, function, and longevity, this guide will help you navigate the key considerations when choosing a bespoke table maker.

How to Find a Bespoke Dining Table Maker

When looking for a bespoke dining table, it’s important to find a maker who values craftsmanship, sustainable practices, and personalised service. Avoid high-street chain stores that often use mass-produced, lower-quality materials. Instead, look for independent, artisan makers who offer:

Responsibly sourced natural wood (such as FSC-certified oak or pine)
Handmade construction using time-honoured joinery techniques
Custom design options including leg styles, tabletop shapes, and finishes
Transparent, collaborative processes that allow your input every step of the way

At Ashton & Coleman, we pride ourselves on these values, delivering furniture that is as durable as it is beautiful.

Choosing a Bespoke Dining Table Size

The size of your dining table should reflect your space and how you plan to use it. A good bespoke maker will guide you through:

Measuring your room to ensure the perfect fit
Allowing space for movement and chairs (usually 90cm around the table)
Adapting size based on regular use vs. entertaining (think extendable options)

Whether you’re furnishing a cosy kitchen nook or a grand dining room, Ashton & Coleman will create a table that fits flawlessly into your home.

Deciding on a Design for Your Bespoke Dining Table

One of the key benefits of bespoke is design flexibility. You can create a piece that complements your aesthetic while being completely unique. Key decisions include:

Wood type: Natural oak offers warmth and durability, while pine provides a lighter, rustic charm.
Tabletop shape: Choose from rectangular, square, round, or oval designs.
Leg style: From traditional turned legs to modern industrial steel frames.
Finish and texture: Choose from smooth, waxed, limed or distressed finishes to match your decor.

Our artisans at Ashton & Coleman work closely with customers to turn their vision into a functional centrepiece.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Having had Indigo furniture in the past, that was heavy, good quality furniture, I was mildly apprehensive about what I would be getting 15 years later from another company over the phone.
The quality is in fact better and the finish is of a higher standard and the old irritations have been rectified. I had a bespoke triple wardrobe made that is superb.
Rest assured it's the same but better!- Look no further!
